Items Needed in the DR

Hello Everyone~

Everyone's airfare has been purchased :) Most of you are flying on American Airlines. I just talked with the American Airlines representative and there are no fees for additional baggage on any of your flights as long as you are flying American Airlines the whole way.

Elizabeth - You are flying to New York on Jet Blue and you will be required to pay $20.00 for your second bag on the way home. *If you use a duffle bag as your second bag filled with donated items, you could just stuff that bag into your other bag and avoid the 2nd bag fee.*
Rachel J - You are flying to San Francisco and back home from San Francisco on United and your fees for 2 checked bags are $40 each way ($15 for the first bag, and $25 for the second).
Christine - You are flying on Alaska Airlines from Seattle to Great Falls and your fees for baggage will be $40 ($15 for the first bag, and $25 for the second).

**I can write each of you a letter stating that you are missionaries and kindly ask the airline to waive any/all of the baggage fees. Sometime this works, and sometimes it does not, but it is worth a try.

Secondly, I wanted to talk with all of you about the contents of your baggage. You should of all received a general packing list earlier in the process. If you haven't received this yet, please let me know as soon as possible and I will get one to you. What most of our missionaries try and do is bring donated items that the ministry can use in their second bag. If you can try and fit your items into your one of your bags, then you can use your second bag for donated items. This is a great goal. I have a list of things below that the ministry can always use. Feel free to talk to friends, family, church members, etc to see if they would be interested in donating items to the DR this summer.
